All Ferrari LaFerrari units for fire hazard
LaFerrari FXX |
All units of the impressive Ferrari LaFerrari are the subject of a recall which has been recently announced by the carmaker because of a fire hazard.
A recall of the Ferrari LaFerrari will never be made public and chances are owners of the hypercar will be getting some benefits in order to keep their mouths shut about this condition but according to a new report, such a recall is true and it has been recently announced by the Maranello based automaker. The hybrid supercars don’t have a mechanical issue and it seems the only thing affecting them is a fire risk due to a paint job.
We all know that vehicles such as the Ferrari 458s are catching fire around the world and the carmaker is keeping quiet on the subject but it seems that this can also happen to the LaFerrari. According to the report, there is a new electrical non-conduction coating applied to the fuel tank which will be fixing this issue but, of course, Ferrari is saying that no recall is currently on its way but we will be back with updates once we have them.
As you probably already know, the Ferrari LaFerrari has been introduced back in 2013, at the Geneva Motor Show, and this is the company’s first ever hybrid supercar, rivaling the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder. The impressive ride has a 6.3L V12 engine under its hood, backed up by an electric motor, producing a total output of 950 HP (708 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the hypercar needs less than 3 seconds and top speed stands at 350 km/h (217 mph).
