IndyCar announces track times for Sunday, next week

IndyCar announced times when its cars will run at Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the next two weeks.

The action begins Sunday with an oval test that's considered opening day. Then, the second Angie's List Grand Prix of Indianapolis will begin Thursday, May 7.

Sunday's test is open to the public as a regular practice day. Admission is $15.

Oval test

Sunday, May 3
Veterans, 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Rookies and refresher sessions: 10:45 a.m.-noon
(Pit lane walk for fans: 12:05-12:55 p.m.)
All drivers: 1-5 p.m.

Road course race

Thursday, May 7
First practice: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Second practice: 3-4:30 p.m.

Friday, May 8
Third practice: 11-11:45 a.m.
Qualifying: 3-4:15 p.m.

Saturday, May 9
Warmup: 11:30 a.m.-noon
Angie's List Grand Prix of Indianapolis: 3:50 p.m.
