CFH Racing announced today that Pub Theology will be joining the team as part of the No. 20 Fuzzy's Award Winning Vodka car. Pub Theology (PubTheologyIndy.com) brings music, comedy, inspiration, compassion, and dialogue to people at dozens of local bars and restaurants. The No. 20 Fuzzy's Chevrolet will be driven by Luca Filippi in tomorrow's Angie's List Grand Prix of Indianapolis. For the Indianapolis 500, team co-owner Ed Carpenter will get behind the wheel. The Pub Theology logo will be featured on the car during both events.
"It's probably one of the craziest things I've ever been involved with," said Daron Earlewine, better known as the Pub Pastor on the Smiley Radio Show in Indianapolis and founder of Pub Theology Indy. "We try to bring the message of faith, hope and love to the everyday places of life. I'm incredibly excited that our organization is being featured on the CFH Racing No. 20 car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!"
Having raised more than $175,000 for well over fifty charities across central Indiana, Pub Theology is Indy's Best Party With A Purpose. "When you come to our events, we're one third a party in a bar, one third a charity event and one third a church service," he jokes.
"When I saw how much money these guys have raised for charity and the lives they've changed, I knew I wanted to do everything I could do to help them out," says Matt Murray of Clean Zone Marketing. "For years, I've been a sponsor of race teams during the Month of May, but I decided getting the word out about Pub Theology and the great work they're doing was more important."
Carpenter, who will be taking over the No. 20 starting on Monday for the first day of Indy 500 practice, is excited about partnering with Pub Theology. "With Fuzzy's Vodka being on board, I think the Pub Theology group is just a natural fit. I think their ministry is very cool and unique. It is definitely something I'm proud to represent!"
"We are blessed to have incredibly generous partners and donors that help us do some amazing things for the people of Indianapolis and around the world," said Earlewine.
The 2015 Angie's List Grand Prix of Indianapolis will be broadcast live on ABC at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on tomorrow, Saturday, May 9. The race will feature 82 laps with the green flag scheduled for 3:50 p.m.
