Tagliani Wins in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series

Starting fourth on the grid in Round 3 of the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series held Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Alex Tagliani ran the race of his life when he lapped the entire field en route to win his second race in the series.

The pilot of the No 18 EpiPen/CGI/CanTorque Chevrolet became the first driver in Canadian Tire Series history to cross the finish line with a lap lead, earning the honor at the inaugural Leland Industries 300. The Lachenaie resident was dominant after he took the lead on lap 108.

The 300-lap affair on the one-third mile oval was run at a very fast pace with only two caution periods. The race was green flag from lap 21 to lap 287. It was during that period that Tagliani lapped his 19 opponents.

"I can't remember the last time I have felt so good on a race track," Tagliani said during a short telephone conversation. “My EpiPen/CGI/CanTorque Chevrolet was simply perfect tonight."

The Leland Industries 300 presented by Johnsonville will premiere on TSN on June 28 at 1 p.m. ET. The Canadian Tire Series will return to the track on July 5 for the Ecko Unlimited 100 at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec.
