Williams Development Driver Susie Wolff ‘Not Sorry’ For Using looks In F1 Bid

Racing driver Susie Wolff said that "she has no regrets about using her looks to help her achieve her dreams of becoming a Formula 1 star," according to Stuart MacDonald of the SCOTSMAN.

Wolff, 32, is bidding to become the first woman to race in F1 for 40 years and believes she is “on the cusp" of making the grade. Susie "has posed for a number of revealing photo shoots and said the attention had helped her with her sponsorship and funding." She insisted that she "is happy to use her position as an attractive woman in a man’s sport in order to get ahead."

She said, “I make no apology for having used gender as a unique selling point in my career. … I’m a woman, I drive racing cars and if there’s an advantage in terms of finding sponsorship or support, then I will make the most of it. That’s what racing is all about: finding competitive advantage and exploiting it."

Wolff, who is married to Mercedes Exec Dir Toto Wolff, said that "she wants to inspire a generation of young women to participate in motorsport."
