Wilson targets fast finish to 2015

Pocono, Pa (19 August 2015) – After a two week break in the action, it is time for a two-race sprint to the checked flag on the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season for Justin Wilson and his Andretti Autosport squad.

This Sunday's ABC Supply 500 (NBCSN broadcast at 2:00 PM ET) will see the field return to oval action in the penultimate round of the 2015 championship.

The 2.5-mile oval event follows a thrilling round of IndyCar action at Mid-Ohio. Set just down the road from several Honda manufacturing facilities, Mid-Ohio played host as Justin Wilson scored second place behind fellow Honda runner Graham Rahal after the duo had a fierce battle for the win in the final stages of the race.

Sunday's 500 mile race at Pocono will reward not only driver and crew endurance, but also those that find the ideal set up for a track that has become known for its "tricky triangle" layout that is unlike anything else in the sport.

Wilson came home 2nd at Mid-Ohio

Wilson scored seventh in the 2013 edition of the race after starting 22nd, and will look to bring the positive momentum from the big Mid-Ohio result to the race weekend.

"Pocono is a huge challenge because you are asking the car to do a lot of different things at different speeds, with the three different kinds of corners there," said Wilson, who has been doing simulator testing for Honda in the break between events.

The Pocono round will be followed by the season-finale event at Sonoma Raceway, where Wilson finished 9th last year and 2nd in 2013 after leading 10 laps.

With a big, fast oval and a celebrated natural terrain road course as the final two races of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season well-reflecting the diversity that the championship requires as drivers look to close the season out with a flourish.

"It's pretty incredible that there are just two rounds left for the season, so hopefully I can make the most out of them. Of course that is everyone else's plan as well!" said Wilson with a laugh. "From getting the chance to run the 500 with Andretti to having a look at racing at Pikes Peak to experiencing Formula E to fighting for a win and being on the IndyCar podium again, this really has been a completely different season for me. I'm grateful to have had these opportunities and hopefully I can help Honda continue to be a factor all the way to the end of the season. I'll just keep working as hard as I can and see what happens."

The ABC Supply 500 is a condensed schedule, with practice and qualifying slated for Saturday ahead of Sunday's race.
