RTL Agrees To Two-Year Broadcast Rights Deal Extension With F1

German free-to-air TV channel RTL "has extended its broadcast deal with Formula One Management," according to Rehm & Lehnebach of SPONSORs.

RTL "will reportedly continue to live broadcast all F1 races in Germany." RTL and FOM "have reportedly reached a two-year deal starting in '16, with an option for an additional two years." The new deal "is expected to be announced at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa this weekend."

German pay-TV network Sky Deutschland, which also airs F1 in Germany, is expected to renew its deal as well. Sky orginally was looking for exclusivity and tried to limit the number or races shown on German free-TV. RTL has shown F1 for more than 20 years Sponsors
