Rain Washes Out NASCAR, NHRA Qualifying

Rain washes out NHRA qualifying at Reading

Persistent rain showers that have plagued the East Coast all week have force race officials with NASCAR as well the NHRA to cancel their scheduled Friday afternoon qualifying sessions.

Qualifying at AAA 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and practice for the Hisense 200 Xfinity Series race at Dover International Speedway were both cancelled. Sprint Cup Series point leader Matt Kenseth will start on the pole for Sunday's race.

Rain also washed out both of Friday afternoon's qualifying sessions for the NHRA Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa. Race officials are hopeful they will be able to continue qualifying on Saturday for all four major divisions.
