Chaves excited about Road America

After much anticipation, the 2016 Verizon Indycar Series schedule was released this morning (see bottom of release). The highlights of the 2016 campaign include a return to Phoenix International Raceway and Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. Also the addition of a street race in Boston adds a major media market on the east coast as Indycar continues to grow the fan base in that area of the country.

The 2016 schedule also begins earlier and ends later, mid-September in Sonoma, CA again. It features a nearly perfect balance of fifteen venues (Detroit being the only Double-Header this year) with five ovals, five street circuits, and five natural terrain road courses.

Gabby Chaves on the 2016 Schedule:
"I'm excited about the 2016 Verizon Indycar Series schedule with some new venues and better spacing in between races. I like the fact that we will have a new oval, road course, and street circuit to change things up a little, which will be fun and challenging. I'm really looking forward on having my first go at Road America in an Indycar, from what I hear from various drivers that tested there, it's almost like a video game with incredible grip, stopping power and high speed."
