Mexican GP: Rosberg leads rain effected 2nd practice

Rosberg speeds thru the Stadium Section

As predicted, the lap times came tumbling down after the track was cleaned in the morning session for the 2nd practice for the Mexican GP in Mexico City. Before light rain fell and slowed the cars the last 15 minutes of the session, Nico Rosberg turned a lap of 1m21.531s to top all comers.

The Red Bulls of Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo were 2nd and 3rd ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the 2nd Mercedes.

Vettel ended the session fifth overall, a fraction of second behind Hamilton. Based on results so far, it appears the Red Bulls and Ferraris may have the measure of the Mercedes in the thin air of Mexico City

The top 6 were separated by just 6/10ths of a second which is fairly close in these Mercedes dominated times.

American Alexander Rossi was 18th in the slug Manor, but a full second quicker than his teammate Will Stevens.

Max Verstappen crashed again and did not turn a lap. Verstappen has gone off early in the final corner on his out lap. He hit the tec-pro barrier with the left front of the car and then the right front.
