Brazilian GP: Hamilton leads another Mercedes 1-2 parade in final practice

Vettewl looks in disbelief at the Mercedes lap times

Lewis Hamilton nipped Nico Rosberg to lead another boring Mercedes 1-2 parade in the final practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Despite a spin Hamilton set a lap of 1m12.070s, beating Rosberg by 0.123 seconds in the soft-tire qualifying simulation. Hamilton said: "Don't know what happened there. The rear gave up real quick and I couldn't really react to it."

Everyone else is out to lunch. One has to laugh when Niki Lauda said this week that Ferrari has caught Mercedes. Talk about putting one’s foot in one’s mouth.

The Ferrari pair of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, were 3rd and 4th with Vettel 0.690s off the pace, and Raikkonen a full second down. In other words they don’t have a chance.

Behind the Ferraris were Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hulkenberg, Romain Grosjean, Sergio Perez, and Pastor Maldonado.

Max Verstappen completed the top 10 for Toro Rosso, 1.5s off the pace.
