Ecclestone upbeat over Monza F1 future

Yup, they coughed up the money so Monza will still have a race.

(GMM) Bernie Ecclestone is now sounding more confident about the future of the historic Italian grand prix.

Earlier, the Monza race seemed endangered for financial reasons, as the F1 supremo warned: "I hope we don't lose it but I think there is a good chance we will."

But Ecclestone has now told Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport: "We will find the right solution — I no longer have doubts about a future for the Italian grand prix.

"Things have been clarified," the 85-year-old Briton added in an interview with the well-known correspondent Pino Allievi. "There is only one go-between now, (automobile club chief Angelo) Sticci Damiani."
