Herta to join Carlin’s BRDC Formula 4 team

Colton Herta will join Carlin’s BRDC Formula 4 team for the upcoming 2016 season it has been confirmed today. The American has already spent a successful season with the team racing in the MSA Formula and looks to continue his winning form as he tackles the Tatuus-Cosworth MSV F4-016 car for the forthcoming season.
15 year-old Herta, who contested his first season in Europe in 2015, remains with British team Carlin for the 2016 season after an impressive year in Britain which saw him take four wins and a further eight podiums. An incredibly strong end to the season saw the young American surge up the championship standings to third overall.
After taking five top two finishes from the last seven races of the season, Herta is ready to make the step up and will race the new Tatuus-Cosworth MSV F4-016 next season. The Californian based teen has already started his test program with Carlin in anticipation for a new championship challenge.

Herta said, “Last year was a great start to my European racing career. With Carlin, I was able to learn a lot and finish the season very strong. I look forward to carrying that momentum into the new season in BRDC F4."
Speaking about the team’s latest BRDC F4 signing, Trevor Carlin said, “I’m so pleased that Colton stays with us for another season. The progress he made on every level in 2015 was very impressive and by the end of the year he was one of the most consistent drivers in the field. He’s a great asset to the team and we have no doubt he will be a front runner in 2016."
