Formula E shortlisted for two Sports Technology Awards

The FIA Formula E Championship has been shortlisted in two categories for the prestigious Sports Technology Awards.

The world’s first fully-electric racing series has made the final list in Best Use of Technology by a Rights Holder, Broadcaster or Governing Body and Best App Award.

The official Formula E App is the ultimate companion and incorporates pioneering 360° video technology featuring innovative user-controlled onboard cameras.

Available for free on iOS and Android, the App offers fans access to a choice of onboard camera angles as well as the ability to follow the entire race live from the skies with the helicopter camera.

Ali Russell, Director of Media and Communications at Formula E, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have made the shortlist for these prestigious awards. Formula E is committed to pioneering new technology that brings the fans even closer to the action, so to be shortlisted in the Best Use of Technology and Best App categories are a superb endorsement of the excellent work the team and our partners have produced."

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on April 15 2016. For more information on Formula E visit
