Construction of Colossus TV, the world's largest outdoor center-hung video screen, is on schedule and continues to pick up pace near the much anticipated debut of the new permanent outdoor display at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500 race weekend, April 15-17.

The halo, the support structure that will hold Colossus TV, went approximately 155 feet in the air Monday, March 7 to have the support cables attached.

This component weighs 146,000 pounds and is nearly 100 feet in diameter. The installation of Colossus TV's 540,000-watt, 428-speaker sound system continues. The next phase of construction is to assemble the gondola on the ground before it attaches to the halo. BMS
