Nico Rosberg continued his dominance of F1 by leading opening practice for the Chinese GP in Shanghai Friday morning.

Lewis Hamilton was 2nd in the sister Mercedes just over 1/10th of a second behind.

Sebastian Vettel was a further 1/2-second back in his Ferrari despite having an upgraded Ferrari engine.

Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) and Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) rounded out the top-5.

There were two red flag periods following punctures for Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen. Pirelli said investigations on both failures showed no sign of a puncture.
