Long Beach: Penske team runs 1-2-3-4 in final IndyCar practice

Will Power led a Team Penske Chevy sweep of the IndyCar final practice ahead of qualifying this afternoon for the 42nd Toyota GP of Long Beach. Power was the only driver in the 1m – 6 sec bracket at 1,06.889s.

Points leader Simon Pagenaud was 2nd fastest followed by Penske teammates Helio Castroneves and Juan Montoya.

Honda drivers Mikhail Aleshin and Graham Rahal were 5th and 6th.

There was a late red in the session when Rahal hit the inside curb at the apex for the righthander at the end of the backstraight.

The Andretti team was still out to lunch with all four cars 15th or worse.
