Tesla limits Model 3 preorders to two per customer.
Tesla Motors Inc. Chief Executive Elon Musk has moved to quash doubts that reservations for the electric-car maker’s Model 3 may be inflated.
A contributor to the website Seeking Alpha claimed late last week he had submitted 20 reservations for the Model 3, the all-electric sedan Tesla hopes to sell in late 2017. Tesla had limited the preorders to two per customer.
Musk tweeted that multiple orders have been purged:
Tesla has claimed that the Model 3’s launch was “the biggest one-week launch of any product ever" with more than 325,000 reservations in the first week. The car is expected to sell around $35,000, half of what its pricier sibling, the Model S, cost.
