Teams go with Ultra Soft tires for Monaco GP

Look for the purple Pirellis in Monaco to be used the most

Formula 1 tire supplier Pirelli has confirmed the compound choices which teams and drivers have made for next weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.

For 2016, each driver will receive 13 dry-weather sets per Grand Prix, with Pirelli choosing two sets for the race (only one of which must be used), and a set of the softest compound, only for use in Q3.

Drivers are free to select any combination of the chosen compounds for the other 10 sets.

For the first time this season, the new Ultra Soft compound will be used at a Grand Prix, alongside the Super Soft and Soft tires.

Mercedes and Red Bull have adopted the same approach, selecting 10 sets of Ultra Soft tires, two Super Soft and one Soft. Ferrari, however, have chosen nine sets of Ultra Softs, two Super Softs and two Softs.

Other teams have been comparatively conservative, with McLaren opting for seven sets of Ultra Soft tires, five Super Softs and one Soft.
