You can’t say that the Texas Motor Speedway isn’t trying. Eddie Gossage is one of the best, if not the best promoters in all of motorsports. On Friday, the 1.5-mile track announced plans to make this past month’s cancellation of the Firestone 600k to August even bigger than the original race itself.

The track is putting tickets up for sale for just $28 and making the entire front stretch general admission. Also, kids 12 and under will receive a “Back To School" price of $10 as well.

That’s not it either, another offer features two tickets and a Racing Electronics race scanner rental with two ear buds for $49.

Furthermore, all front stretch seating, including premium sections, will be general admission, so for fans that already have tickets from the race originally scheduled for June 11, mixed with fans purchasing new tickets, they can sit anywhere they want on August 27.

But, there could be an even bigger crowd on top of that, as the track announced that any that has purchased or will purchase a ticket for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race there in November will get a free ticket to the Firestone 600 Verizon IndyCar Series race as well.

So, it’s a safe bet to say more people will be there in August for the race than the original date in June.

Even the food vendors are going to help as Levy Restaurants is offering $1 hot dogs and Coca-Cola beverages at select areas on the frontstretch concourse while supplies last too.

The “Restart Your Engines" schedule for the completion of the Firestone 600, initially postponed June 11 and then suspended the following day due to inclement weather conditions after the completion of 71 of the 248 laps, will begin with gates opening to the public at 4 p.m. CT. Race activities will start with a Verizon IndyCar Series practice from 4:30-5 p.m., autograph session featuring the entire driver field from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and resumption of the race beginning at 8 p.m.
