Porsche 918 Recalled for Incorrect Seat Belt Bolts
Porsche 918 |
Porsche released information regarding a recall of the mighty hybrid hypercar, one involving incorrect bolts in the seat belt assemblies.
According to the automaker, the parts catalog for the 918 incorrectly labeled the bolts for both the seat belt mount and the belt reel mount, leading to possible confusion when ordering. Porsche says these bolts are "one-time-use" only, and are not the same parts. As you might expect, if the wrong type of bolts were used, the seat belts might not work properly in the event of a crash. Porsche looks to bring all 918s into dealerships, and inspect the assemblies for any defects. If there is indeed a problem, the bolts will be replaced.
