Former NASCAR driver and race winner Marcos Ambrose, left the sport of auto racing to develop a new tourism venture Thousand Lakes Lodge near Lake Augusta in the Central Highlands (Tasmania, Australia). Ambrose says driving a race car and developing a new tourism product may seem worlds apart, however it's been surprising to experience the similarities between rising up the ranks of professional sport and developing a new tourism product.

In an interview at ultra106five.com, Ambrose provides insights into the lessons he has learned as an elite sportsperson and applying them to developing a tourism business in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area in the Central Highlands and added that he was extremely excited to be back in Tasmania and involved in the tourism industry.
