Brad Keselowski’s car fails postrace inspection at MIS
Brad Keselowski ran illegal |
Brad Keselowski, who finished 3rd, had his car fail postrace measurements following the Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway.
The typical penalty for the violation has been a 15-point deduction for the driver and a $25,000 fine to the crew chief, but NASCAR won't comment on potential penalties until they are announced, which typically is the Wednesday following a race. The 15-point penalty is insignificant to Keselowski, who sits second in the standings by 50 points and whose four wins this year have him locked into NASCAR's postseason Chase for the Sprint Cup.
The #2 Ford failed the inspection station that measures tire camber, axle housing, alignment, rocker panels and the main frame rail. All cars go through that inspection station prior to the race. The top-five cars plus any other cars chosen by NASCAR also go through it after the race. ESPN
