FIA appoints Jean-Baptiste Pinton

Jean-Baptiste Pinton is the new chief administrative officer of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), world motorsport’s governing body.

He will assume the role from Damien Clermont on 1st October. The Frenchman will be responsible for the strategic direction of the FIA Support Services, and the everyday administrative and financial activities of the organisation. He will report directly to FIA President Jean Todt.

During an early career as a civil servant, Pinton held roles in France’s Ministry of Economy and Finance. He was subsequently posted for three years in Singapore as deputy French trade commissioner. In 2002 he became secretary general of the country’s nuclear defense authority, the IRSN, and then from 2007 to 2014 he was deputy chief executive officer of the Defense Conseil International.

Before joining the FIA Pinton was a partner at Leaders Trust International, a firm specializing in executive search and leadership consulting.
