NASCAR took away the starting positions of three drivers whose cars failed postrace height measurements following their Daytona 500 qualifying races Thursday.

Furniture Row Racing's Martin Truex Jr. was seventh in the first race, while JTG Daugherty Racing's Chris Buescher was 16th in that first race and Buescher teammate AJ Allmendinger was fourth in the second race — but they all had their finishes disallowed for failing tech.

Allmendinger would have started 10th, Truex 13th and Buescher 32nd in Sunday's Daytona 500, but they now will start at the rear of the field.

Allmendinger will not receive the seven points he'd earned with his finish and Truex won't receive the four he had earned.

NASCAR has minimum height requirements for its races at Daytona and Talladega.
