Kyle Busch Fastest In Third Cup Practice

Kyle Busch was fastest in the second of the two Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice session held on Friday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the season-opening Daytona 500 on Sunday.

Running 31 laps in the second session, Busch laid down the fastest lap of 45.624 seconds (197.265 mph), besting his teammate Matt Kenseth, who ended the session second-quickest with a lap of 45.626 seconds (197.256 mph). Denny Hamlin (45.660/197.109), Erik Jones (45.673/197.053) and Daniel Suarez (45.677/197.036) made up the rest of the top five.

The final Cup Series practice as schedule for Saturday at 12:30pm just following NASCAR Xfinity Series practice.
