Is Sebring in play?

UPDATE We are downgrading this rumor to 'false' today. We spoke to Champ Car President Dick Eidswick who said there was a conversation about Sebring a few weeks ago but he did not expect there to be a Champ Car race at Sebring. 11/06/04 We heard some wild speculation today that Champ Car might be considering a race at Sebring the day after the 12 Hours of Sebring, which ends at 10:00 PM on Saturday night. The advantage of holding a race that Sunday, March 20th, following the 12 Hour race is the fact that 130,000 fans are already gathered, many of them arriving days before and camping out. A lot of the crowd is composed of college students on Spring Break. The 12 Hours of Sebring truly is a “happening," a party, and an American classic, but would ALMS let Champ Car in on their biggest event?
