Formula 1 qualifying to change again?
In Brazil the Formula 1 teams got together and agreed to accept a new qualifying plan which had been dreamed up by Bernie Ecclestone, Max Mosley and Jean Todt over coffee at the World Motor Sport Council in Paris the previous week. Now it seems things may need to change because, according to Ecclestone, "people are upset" about the new plan. Ecclestone did not say who was upset but it seems that the major opposition to the idea is coming from the television broadcasters, who see no purpose in having final qualifying on Sunday morning, something which wipes out the audience for qualifying on Saturdays and will not be replaced by any huge audience on a Sunday morning.
