Signature team eyes 2006 entry

According to this week's Autosport Magazine, the French Signature team is eyeing a place on the 2006 GP2 grid, even though its plans for this year were ultimately frustrated. The front running Formula 3 Euroseries outfit missed out on getting into this year’s championship, but team boss Philippe Sinault attended the GP2 launch at Paul Ricard last week with a couple of his sponsors, whom he hopes to persuade to back his project next year. “We will be on the 2006 GP2 grid for sure," he said. “We came close this year, and we are continuing to push very hard." GP2 boss Bruno Michel said he wasn’t sure if the championship would be opened up to more than 12 teams next year. “There are many considerations with the Formula 1 paddock that we have to look at," he said.
