Double Podium Finish For Bentley Team Absolute At Road America
Adderly Fong |
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – Bentley Team Absolute’s No. 88 Adderly Fong dominated the action in rounds four and five of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship at Road America this weekend.
The Chinese driver scored his first Pirelli World Challenge victory in Saturday’s race after earning pole position at Road America, one of the fastest permanent road racing tracks in the world, for the second year in a row.
Along with Saturday’s victory, Fong scored the fastest lap aboard his Bentley Continental GT3 earning him pole position for Sunday.
Fong finished in second place in Sunday’s race, but not before he went on to again achieve fastest lap of the race in spite of a red flag period as well as a safety car early in the race.
Fong's 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine aboard the Bentley Continental GT3 is actually the same engine used on the road aboard the Bentley Continental GT V8.
The results of the weekend were Fong’s strongest ever in Pirelli World Challenge competition. The victory on Saturday was also Bentley Motors’ third overall win in this championship.
Celebrations for Bentley Motorsport took place on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean with Fong’s Pirelli World Challenge SprintX Championship co-driver Vince Abril teamed with Andy Souceck and Maxime Soulet winning the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at Paul Ricard.
Bentley Team Absolute will head to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on July 28-30 for rounds six and seven.
