Kyle Busch’s No. 18 found with one unsecured lug nut at Kentucky
Busch won the pole on Friday, but Sunday was another story |
NASCAR officials announced Saturday night that the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 Toyota for driver Kyle Busch was found with one unsecured lug nut in a post-race check at Kentucky Speedway.
Busch, the Coors Light Pole winner, led 112 laps and finished fifth behind Quaker State 400 winner Martin Truex Jr.
Saturday’s event was the first race back atop the pit box for No. 18 crew chief Adam Stevens, who joined two crew members in serving a four-race suspension for a tire coming off Busch’s car last month at Dover International Speedway.
Under the guidelines in the 2017 NASCAR Rule Book, a $10,000 fine would be the suggested penalty for Saturday’s single lug-nut infraction.
