Austin Cindric to make Xfinity Series debut next weekend at Road America

Austin Cindric will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut next weekend with Team Penske at a track with which he is very familiar.

Cindric, the 18-year-old son of Penske president Tim Cindric, will drive Team Penske’s No. 22 Ford in next Sunday’s Johnsonville 180 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc.

“I’m excited to announce I’ll be making my NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Road America in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang for Team Penske," Cindric announced in a video posted on Twitter Sunday.

“It’s the biggest opportunity of my racing career and I’m really excited to get started at one of the best race tracks in the country, in my opinion. Should be a lot of fun and should be exciting and I hope I can pull it off."
