Champ Car still eyes Asia

Don't think for one minute that Champ Car has given up on Asia and the Pacific Rim just because the South Korea race was cancelled for the second year in a row. Kevin Kalkhoven and company are over in Otaru, Japan and Beijing this week working those deals. In Otaru they are holding a press conference and surveying the two or three chosen downtown sites for the race. The police department must approve the race circuit. They wield a lot of power in Japan.

In Beijing we assume they are meeting with government officials to figure out what they want to do until the downtown Olympic site becomes available. There are a couple of options as we understand it. Their next stop? Surfers Paradise, Australia.
