Trans-Am not dead yet

We quizzed Paul Gentilozzi over the weekend about the status of the Trans-Am Series. Many are assuming it is dead. "We are trying to continue it," said Gentilozzi. "we were ready to announce a new sponsor, but then they had a glitch and we had to postpone it. It may be that we combine Trans-Am with the SCCA SPEED World Challenge series because they are struggling a bit. It is still possible that we won't continue with the Trans-Am series, but I'm very hopeful that it will continue."

If it continues, will Trans-Am race at Long Beach given Grand-Am is now on the schedule? "Yes," said Gentilozzi. "They reserved space for us in Long Beach should Trans-Am continue."
