F1 unlikely for new A1-Ring

(GMMf1NET) Even though the demolished 'A1-Ring' is to be restored, the return of formula one to Austria has been deemed 'unrealistic' by the project's chief player.

However, Ernst Wustinger told the 'Kleinen Zeitung' newspaper that Zeltweg could host motor races again, such as the DTM series.

[Editor's Note: There are a number of F1 tracks in Europe that will soon not have an F1 race. Besides A1-Ring, Imola and Monza in Italy, Hockenheimring and Nurburgring in Germany, Monaco and Magny Cours in France all may have to alternate years in which they host F1 races per Bernie Ecclestone’s recent threat. Then there are tracks like Zandvoort in Holland and the long course at Brands Hatch that used to host F1 races. Should Champ Car ever go back to Europe there appears to be any number of tracks that could host a race. What we want to know is how come the rumored street races in Manchester, England quietly went away? Was that Bernie doing his magic behind the scenes to stunt any competition? It sure seemed that way because within weeks of the Manchester race, there were leaks of a possible F1 race in the streets of London.]
