If there is going to be a merger, or a 2 division league with playoffs, look for the IRL to adopt the new Champ Car and possibly the 2.65L turbo engine format. If we hear this year that the IRL is putting out an RFP for manufacturers to bid on a new car for 2008, a car unique to the IRL, all possibilities of a merger of any sort, will be gone.]
