Rolex 24: Hour 17 Standings – Action Express still 1-2

With 7 hours to go in the Rolex 24 the Action Express Cadillacs still run 1-2 but the #5 now has a 2 lap lead over the #31. The #31 had contact with the #7 Penske Acura driven by Helio Castroneves earlier and the car has not been as fast since.
The #23 United Autosport Ligier runs 3rd five laps behind. The sister #32 Ligier runs 18th some 26 laps behind after Fernando Alonso ran the car into the ground trying to catch the Cadillacs. Orecas run 4-5-6-7-8-9 with no chance to win unless the top-3 run into issues.
The Ford GTs continue to run 1-2 in GTLM with the #3 Corvette trying to hang onto the lead lap in third. Tomy Milner runs 2-laps behind in 4th in the #4 Corvette. The Corvettes cannot win this race unless the Fords run into trouble.
The #33 Mercedes is back in front in the GTD class.
