GM Statement on USA/China trade talks

China has been stealing our intellectual property rights for years and forcing companies like GM to give away all their manufacturing secrets in order to sell cars in China. Trump is putting his foot down and fighting back. Previous weak Presidents allowed the USA to be stepped on and made out to be complete idiots

We support a positive trade relationship between the U.S. and China, and urge both countries to continue to engage in constructive dialogue and pursue sustainable trade policies.

We continue to believe both countries value a vibrant auto industry and understand the interdependence between the world’s two largest automotive markets.
