New sponsor for Andretti

UPDATE #2 For more on this rumor about Frank's Energy Drink (first broke by AutoRacing1.com) going to AGR, see this rumor. This rumor is upgraded to strong.

10/14/07 It looks like we have uncovered who the new AGR energy sponsor may be – Frank's Energy Drink. We hear Gene Simmons is tied in with the deal and so to perhaps 7-Eleven. Gene Simmons is lending his legendary rock star energy and enthusiasm to help market and promote Frank's Energy Drink. He also of course does a similar effort for the IRL. So it appears Simmons is sending Frank's Energy Drink the IRL's way. Frank's is named after Frank Stronach, who came from Austria to Canada with nothing more than a few hundred dollars and a dream to own his own business. That business is today one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world, with sales of more than $25 billion per year and 85,000 employees.

10/14/07 According to AutoRacing1.com sources, Andretti Green Racing will announce that an energy drink company will sponsor one of their existing drivers next year. Putting 2 and 2 together, Danica has a multi-year deal with Motorola, we believe Tony Kanaan is locked up with 7-Eleven and that leaves Marco Andretti. The NYSE never made any sense to us as there is zero fit between the stock exchange and race fans. Fans buy the stock they want regardless of what exchange it is on. A person does not buy one stock vs. another based on the stock exchange it's traded on. Previous Andretti sponsor Archipelago bought the NYSE, that is why NYSE went on the car. Therefore, we conclude that Marco Andretti will be sponsored by an energy drink company in 2008.
