Another arrest has been made in connection with Volkswagen's diesel emissions-cheating scandal. Automotive News Europe reports Porsche powertrain boss Jorg Kerner has been arrested, and is now in custody. Kerner joined Audi's powertrain development team in 2004 after working for nearly two decades at Bosch.

Automotive News reports that Kerner worked alongside with former Porsche R&D head Wolfgang Hatz, who was Audi powertrain chief from 2001 to 2007 and was arrested last year. In an internal memo, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said "we reject these allegations and will do our utmost to clear up the matter."

Reuters reported earlier this week that German prosecutors are investigating three current and former Porsche managers including one current board member. Properties in Bavaria and Badden-Wuerttemberg have been searched, according to the Stuttgart prosecutors office.
