Ganassi thinks something big up in open wheel

Question: Chip Ganassi held a press conference yesterday at Daytona and he had all of his drivers with him and I listened to it on XM Radio's "Dialed In" program. He pretty much said that there are some developments happening in IndyCar and that the sport will "turn the corner" during the next two years and that he is really excited about it. Of course, the news reporters didn't inquire more about that, but do you know what the "developments" that are happening that Chip is talking about. I will say that as a listener Chip got me pretty excited about the upcoming season. (John, Nashville, Tenn.)

Answer by Curt Cavin – Indy Star Newspaper: I wasn't there, of course, but I imagine he was referring to the possibility that Champ Car closes and there's just one open-wheel series. But remember when Roger Penske said much of the same thing about three years ago. Everyone keeps waiting for that shoe to drop, and so far it hasn't.
