Nationwide Series COT rumors

"We've been discussing that with NASCAR ongoing," Geschickter said Thursday. "They've built one. I've seen it. There's a team from each manufacturer building one for wind tunnel testing, and they'll have to take it a step at a time, the way they did with the Cup car."

Unlike the Sprint Cup COT, the car Geschickter saw had a rear spoiler instead of a wing.

"It's a good-looking car," he said. "It's got more front bias, a smaller splitter. You'll have more front downforce, which means you don't need the wing. It looks like a racecar, which I like. I think it's pretty sporty looking.

"I think the cool thing is they're also working on some character lines, where a Mustang may look more like a Mustang, or a Malibu may look more like a Malibu, so that will be good for manufacturer support, too."
