NASCAR Hands Out Lug Nut Penalties

NASCAR has penalized two teams for lug nut violations after last weekend’s events at Kentucky Speedway.

The No. 22 Team Penske Ford driven by Paul Menard was found to have one lug nut not secured at the end of the Alsco 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race. Crew chief Brian Wilson was fined $5,000. Menard finished ninth.

In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the No. 24 GMS Racing Chevrolet driven by Justin Haley was found to also have one lug nut not secured. His crew chief Kevin Bellicourt was fined $2,500. Haley finished 10th in Thursday’s Buckle Up In Your Truck 225.
