Mosley son found dead of drug overdose

UPDATE #2 Police confirmed he had suffered a drugs overdose – just months after a newspaper printed photos of Max Mosley taking part in an S&M orgy. The F1 supremo said later the shame of the revelations had “humiliated" his family.

“Can you imagine seeing pictures like that of your father? It’s just appalling," he said.

He added: “I don’t think there is anything worse for a son than to see in a newspaper, particularly one like the News Of The World, pictures of the kind they printed.

“I can think of nothing more undignified or humiliating than that."

A neighbor told how Alexander Mosley had battled with a serious drug habit but had also been clean for long periods. The neighbor, who declined to be named, said: “Alexander was a very troubled guy. He was too rich, too young and he had problems, and they haunted him to the end.

“I knew him socially. He was a very cultured man. I knew him and a former girlfriend, who I believe he had met while they were both undergoing treatment. He stayed with me in France a few years ago while he was on a road trip with his girlfriend and he was clean then, clean and happy. He has obviously bought something and it was too strong and it killed him. I just hope they catch whoever sold it."

Yesterday former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan said: “Max and Alexander particularly were very close."

He said father and son shared “a great intellect" and described Alex as a “hugely clever and talented computer expert".

Mr. Jordan added: “It’s totally tragic, he was such a bright boy. I’m devastated for them."

But one neighbor, who refused to be named, said: “I don’t think it was a big secret that he was a heroin user. “I’m not going to complain, I don’t think his lifestyle imposed on others in the street. It is very sad what’s happened. I didn’t know him well."

Another neighbor, retired psychologist Steve Abrams, 70, said: “I saw Alex Mosley and another guy go into the house about an hour before the police showed up. The police arrived just after 4.30pm. Then a private ambulance showed up." See related article.
