The Skip Barber Racing School (SBRS) announced, today, that it has joined with the Blancpain GT World Challenge America racing series to provide a series of benefits for drivers, school alumni and racing fans, alike. “We’ve been successfully training Formula 1, NASCAR, INDY CAR, IMSA and Pirelli World Challenge drivers for years," commented Anthony DeMonte CEO of Skip Barber Racing Schools. “This relationship with Blancpain GT World Championship America now gives us the opportunity to positively impact young drivers coming into the series, to be aspirational for our students and to welcome new students to the SBRS experience."
The Blancpain GT World Challenge America will stage seven racing weekends across North America in 2019. The SBRS array of instruction options include 1, 2 and 3-day racing schools that offer expert, hands-on instruction for drivers who wish to compete in club and regional racing all the way up to those pursuing an international racing license.
“There is no question that matching two iconic brands – the Blancpain GT World Challenge and Skip Barber Racing School – will enhance the sport by training rookie drivers, elevate the fan experience and provide drivers serious about their racing careers to become more competitive," affirmed Greg Gill, President and CEO of SRO Motorsports America, producers of the Blancpain GT World Challenge series.
In addition to the planned “Rookie University" program that will be offered to drivers new to the Blancpain GT World Championship America, GT4 America, and TC America series, Skip Barber Racing School will offer driver and fan experiences at select competition weekends in 2019.
