Campos F1 project ‘still alive’ ?
Amid speculation that Campos is looking to sell up after failing to compile a full budget for 2010, Dallara said it is not true that the team is not paying its bills.
"It is not true, not from our side at least," chief executive officer Andrea Pontremoli said in a BBC Sport report.
"We are still proceeding to build the car and it has passed its crash tests."
The report said Campos is, like Lotus, expected to test the car for the first time at the third winter test in mid February.
It is also rumored that the team has already agreed to sell a major stake to the South African businessman Tony Teixeira.
"People speak about Teixeira, but we are (also) talking to others," said Adrian Campos.
The former Minardi driver played down speculation that selling his entry to Stefan GP, who want to use the departed Toyota's 2010 package, is another possibility.
"I don't want to sell my part of the team and I will remain the team principal — the condition to be a shareholder is to accept all the existing contracts," Campos added.
"We are looking for investors and sponsors but the project is very much alive."
01/09/10 (GMM) Campos Meta 1 is in talks with parties potentially interested in buying into the new Spanish team, it has emerged.
The German website motorsport-total.com reports that the outfit led by former Minardi driver and GP2 team owner Adrian Campos is yet to collate its full budget for the 2010 season.
The report said Campos is looking at either partly or completely selling the team before the Bahrain season opener, and possibly as soon as next week.
"It is not a secret that we do not have the budget. And time is scarce," a source confirmed.
"If we can find a good investor, we could sell part of the team to them. If necessary we could sell the whole team, but the basic conditions would have to be right," the source added.
The source said talks with several potential investors are taking place, including the South African entrepreneur and A1GP boss Tony Teixeira, who in the past has been linked with buying Super Aguri, Spyker, Toro Rosso and Honda.
