Randy Bernard charged with making IRL profitable

We posed the following question to Randy Bernard today at the St. Petersburg track:

Q: Tony George made a statement at a Motorsports Forum a year or two ago that IndyCar had to be profitable by 2013. Has the Hulman George family put that mandate on your shoulders as well?

Bernard: "When I took this job, at the press conference we had there in Indy I was asked about the challenges I face. I don't look at them as challenges, I look at them as opportunities. I think that (making it profitable) is the biggest opportunity we have. If the league is not successful in a couple of years they should really look at who they have running the company. As I said, the buck stops here. I need some breaks, I know that. Right now we really have some momentum and we need to keep that going. IZOD has really helped and I think we can be successful in two years."
