The ‘Racing Wives’ Cast Sets The Stage For A Drama-Packed First Season (Update)

UPDATE A new reality show focused on NASCAR and the mega mansions housing some of the sport's top drivers and their families dotting Lake Norman has missed its January premiere date.

"Racing Wives," which has been billed as the dramatic behind-the-scenes look at the women of NASCAR, was originally supposed to debut on the CMT network Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. A spokesperson for CMT told Patch this week, however, there were no new updates on when the series would air.

Samantha Busch, wife of Cup Champion Kyle Busch, took to social media last week to address the delay, saying, "Details regarding a future premiere date are TBD. As soon as I know more, I will be sure to update all of you who continue to support all my endeavors!

Whitney Dillon, wife of driver Austin Dillon, retweeted a message that the show had been postponed until the spring or summer of 2019.

Premiering Thursday, Jan. 3 on CMT, Racing Wives follows the extravagant lifestyles of race car drivers and their spouses in Charlotte, North Carolina. It's like if the Real Housewives franchise married Southern Charm — with a bit of NASCAR thrown in, of course. But to watch drivers do their thing, interested parties just have to turn on ESPN — the Racing Wives cast, on the other hand, is all about those drivers' better halves, a Monster Model, and even a female driver. And it looks like these women are revving to make their debut on-screen.

As a bit of background, Charlotte is home to both the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Their lifestyles include sprawling mansions, extravagant parties, expensive cars, and — if the trailer is any indication — lots of drama (because why make a reality show without it?).
