Milner to replace O’Connell in Corvette seat
“Johnny O'Connell has made a tremendous contribution to the success of Corvette Racing both on and off the track," said General Motors racing director Mark Kent. “Now as GM launches a new motorsports program with another iconic brand, Johnny was the unanimous choice for Team Cadillac. We are very pleased that Johnny will continue to be a valued member of the GM Racing family, and we believe that his proven speed, racecraft and outgoing personality will be great assets for the Cadillac racing program."
A GM spokesperson said that Corvette Racing should confirm its driver lineup within the next few weeks, and strong rumors say that ALMS veteran and former BMW Rahal Letterman Racing driver Tommy Milner is the favorite to land the seat. Incumbent drivers Jan Magnussen, Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta will return, and Antonio Garcia–who joined the team for long endurance races in 2009 and 2010–is also likely to return. AutoWeek
