Dreyer & Reinbold to stick with Honda?

Question: My question is in regards to Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. It appears that they are going to stay with Honda in 2012. Does that make D&R the premier Honda-backed racing team in the IndyCar series for 2012 and possibly beyond? If so, do you think that makes them more or less competitive? (Karl, Brown County, Ind.)

Answer: It’s up to the team’s on-track performance to determine if it’s the premier Honda team because you can bet on Andretti Autosport and de Ferran Dragon Racing being Honda teams as well. I think Ganassi’s primary team will be Chevrolet; it will be interesting to see if the second team goes that route, too. Team officials are looking at going Honda to cover their bases, which is smart. I’m sure Panther will be Chevrolet, too, with KV going Lotus. Tough to call on the rest. Indy Star
